The catch of a lifetime.

Summer fishing

The Sea of Cortez is one of the most abundant fishing areas in the world.

Just few of the more popular Baja sportfish are Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Yellow Tail, Wahoo, Dorado, Cabrilla, Groupers, Jack Cravelle, Cabrilla, Yellow Fin, Roosterfish and Sierra.

The best months in Baja for the majority of the most
popular sport fish are April through November. But great fishing can be had any time of year.

Quite a few weeks of our fishing season are exclusively booked through our premiere flyfishing host Gary Bulla at garybulla.com. He hosts all inclusive fully catered fishing trips (and light tackle conventional too!). Come with your own group by prearranged date or join up with a scheduled trip. Learn the secrets from someone who has fished this area for over twenty years. Please contact him at gary@garybulla.com or check out his website for schedules and pricing.

Baja Joe’s is at the center of the fishing action. An hour after you are on the water, you will see other fishing charters arriving from Cabo San Lucas, San Jose Del Cabo, and La Paz. They will have motored for hours to get to the hot spot that is right out your front door. The local guides are most familiar with the local fishing spots and have up to date reports on what has been productive.

Although the Panga’s are usually the preferred method of fishing, plenty of action can also be had from the shore, from a kayak, or in a zodiac. Rosterfish, Sierra, Pargo and many other fish are only a cast away. The abundance and variety of fish along with the endless variety of fishing methods makes Baja’s La Ventana any fisherman’s dream.

And of course, at the end of every successful day, comes the best part. We can suggest several ways to prepare your catch and provide the most scenic patio in Baja on which to dine.
